The Yinxu archeological site is one of China’s oldest and largest. It was also the place of the earliest known Chinese writing. The best preserved of the Shang Dynasty royal tombs unearthed at Yinxu is the Tomb of Fu Hao. It was also the site for the largest number of Si Mu Wu Ding bronze vessels unearthed in the world. After nearly a hundred years of archaeological excavations, numerous Shang palaces, mausoleum tombs, burial pits, settlement sites, cemetery groups and handicraft sites have been discovered. Among these sites, oracle bones, bronze jade and other fine artifacts have been unearthed, which paints a comprehensive picture of the Chinese style displayed at the capital of the Shang dynasty 3000 years ago.
